| The King James Version of the Holy Bible (Amended) The Amended King James Version of the Holy Bible, published by the “Philadelphia Publishing Association,” is an improvement over previous versions. At least, it translates the name of the Hebrew god as “Yahweh” instead rendering it as “God” and “Lord.” In this amended version of the so-called “Holy? Bible,” the “Introduction” lays out the reasons for the correction in the following words:
“Yahweh is the name of the one who created heaven and earth. But his name is erroneously rendered Jehovah in Ps. 83:18 and elsewhere in the KJV, which also inconsistently substitutes the titles 'GOD' and 'LORD' in its place nearly 7000 times! The only indication given the reader that these words refer to Yahweh, is that the first letter of each word is printed with a large capital, while the last letters are printed with small capitals as shown above. Even if a person happens to notice the odd way these words are printed, he usually is unaware of its significance. “In our Amended version of that book these titles are translated, but the name is transliterated. Accordingly, Yahweh, the Hebrew pronunciation of the divine name, is carried over into the English vocabulary, but the Hebrew titles “elohim,” “el,” “adonai” and “adon” are translated into their English equivalents, “gods,” “god.” “lords” and “lord” respectively.” The complete truth about the gods of the Bible is not even found in the translators of the amended version of the King James Authorized Translation, anymore than it can be found in the authority and truthfulness of King James I, when he dictated that a new version of the Bible be translated into English shortly after he sat on his throne in 1603. He was a scholar and knew the truth about Yahweh of the Old Testament and the other gods listed therein, but thought it better that the stupid English and American masses continue to be baffled and in awe of some of the mysteries of the Bible, mysteries that were, in large part, ramblings and distorted myths, with some accurate history and occasional injections of good moral advice, realized ages ago. However, to their credit, these modern-day translators finally admit that "Yahweh" was the name of the main Old Testament god in their amended version of the King James Authorized Version. If he is God, why does he need a name? He isn't, so the ancient Hebrews needed to distinguish him from the other gods (elohim) of their time. Even the translators of the amended version failed to translate into English the other Hebrew elohim into the English equivalent of "gods." They simply leave them as "Lord" or "God," so naive readers can continue to believe there is only one god in the Bible, for another two thousand years!
Beware of the authority and truthfulness in any bible. Germany thought Hitler had the truth, and look where it is today. Look at what a mess we are in today after relying in large part on the King James Version of the Bible!
